7.24.08 Breaking free
My husband says that cloud pictures a dime a dozen, and I realize I just posted a cloud image not too long ago. But I really couldn't resist this shot.

7.23.08 Stand-in
My husband is going on a 5-day backpacking excursion, so he took the "good" camera. Leaving me with this old one which still works if you're only taking pictures of coffee cups and pine cones.
In case you can't see in the picture, it's an HP Photosmart 935 with 21x zoom and 5.2 MP. Woohoo. Aren't I stylin'? <_<

7.21.08 Coffee Cake Still Life
Here, I can showcase several things at once:
1. gorgeous sunflowers my dear husband bought me for no reason whatsoever
2. a slice of coffee cake which is derived from a recipe from my friend Karen
3. the plate I painted at a ceramics shop with my daughter this year
4. my "Dreams" mug from the 2006 Women of Faith Conference

7.19.08 The Joker
"I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger."
~ The Joker, from The Dark Knight (2008)
We went to a late showing of Dark Knight, so even though I went out on Friday, this picture was technically taken on Saturday--just in the early morning. :oP
It's an awesome movie, but I would warn parents to take the PG-13 rating seriously. Check it out before letting your 13 year old or younger child in to see it. There's not a lot of gore. (In fact, very little overall.) However, the psychotic and sometimes startling actions of the Joker can be a bit disturbing for an unprepared viewer.

7.18.08 Seattle's Best Cola
Seattle's Best has a new drink made from Red Cane cola. It's basically a seltzer-type water with cola flavoring and whipped cream on top. Tastes like a Coke float--quite tasty, but easily made at home for at least $3 less.

7.16.08 Aspen
My parents planted this tree brand new and spindly when they first moved into their house over 20 years ago. I love Aspens. They're probably the prettiest trees I've ever seen--anytime of year.

7.14.08 Yellow flowers
I want to say these are orchids, but aren't orchids purple? Maybe there are yellow ones. Either way, they were very pretty.

7.11.08 Glasses at the Hilton
Visited my brother and sister-in-law over the weekend, and my mom, my son, and I stayed at a Hilton hotel for the night.
NOTE: Yes, backposting again! So sorry to do this once again.

7.8.08 Horseshoe
There's something very cool about the fact that someone decided the end of this railing looked like it needed to be outfitted with a horseshoe.
p.s. Yes, I just backposted the last eight days or so. Things have been hectic!

7.4.08 The picture I didn't take
"Watching fireworks from the back porch. Lots of explosions and pretty colors shining bright against a black sky."

7.3.08 New technology
We took my old Polaroid camera around to take 10 pictures for the day. My daughter was fascinated by this "new to her" technology.

7.2.08 Busy, busy
I walked by these flowers and thought, "Yes, they're pretty, but they're not very interesting." Then I noticed several bees feeding on them, and viola! My picture of the day arrived!
