3.30.08 LesserEvil Brand
This is something new... I bought some, and it was pretty tasty. The packaging though--gotta love it.

3.28.08 Icicles
Cars all over town were sporting this lovely natural decor after the freezing rain that fell last night and stayed iced on through the morning and afternoon.

3.22.08 Trapped bird
My daughter and I went to the church office this afternoon to hang some posters and discovered that a bird had slipped in through a cracked window in the worship pastor's office. It was trapped between the blinds and the window. We figured out how to open the window, and it flew to freedom.

3.21.08 Donut box
My husband brought these home after hiking. I thought the logos on the side of the box were kind of funny.
p.s. Yes, I am backposting from March 21-23. I can't believe how far behind I was! Should be up to date now.

3.19.08 Dead snowmen
Here's another hint at how much snow we got and how quickly it burned off. Sunday, it looked like a blizzard outside, and today, we were playing at the park without coats. I love Colorado. :oD

3.18.08 Bug light
This didn't come out as clear as I would like, but oh well. It caught my eye as I was leaving a friend's house tonight.

3.17.08 Evergreen
A little green for St. Patty's Day. This snow blew in yesterday as a near-blizzard. My daughter and I were driving around in it, and it was glorious! (Dangerous but beautiful; we drove safely.) We were supposed to get more today, but alas, it was not to be.

3.16.08 Chandelier
Lighting fixture in one of the many dining areas at the new family fun center. It's a rather elegant thing, yet it's hanging from that oh-so classy hospital ceiling.

3.15.08 Strawberry pirate
Today was my daughter's "official" birthday party since it was the first day we could get everyone together. I made a cake for her that was supposed to look like Strawberry Shortcake wearing a big, pink puffy dress. But then we stuck in this pirate candle, and well, it gave the cake a whole new look.

3.14.08 Morning snow
This morning, we awoke to a city blanketed in this lovely, fluffy snow. It's the kind of snow that balances in heavy columns on fences and branches and makes excellent snowballs. Unfortunately, by 2:00 p.m., the temperature was into the 40s and all that was left were piles made by snowplows in the street.

My off the top of my head apple crisp. Tossed the apples with apple cider mix and cinnamon. Ooo. Yum.

3.12.08 Little girl's flowers
Guys, there is no greater gift you can give to your daughters than to treat them like the princesses they are. Buy them flowers for their birthdays. For Valentine's Day. For Christmas. For any occasion or non-occasion you can think up.
Show her what she should expect when she one day seeks that man who will become her husband. Raise her standards, for there is no higher standard than a little girl's daddy.

3.11.08 Cupcakes
Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday, so we made dozens of little angel food cupcakes for her classmates. She decorated about 90% of them all by herself. It was very fun!

You can tell a lot about a person from their bookshelf. This is my uppermost shelf. What does it say about me?

3.8.08 Crab avocado rolls
My dear friend Donita took a few of us out to a fancy restaurant this evening. I've always wanted to go to a place where they work hard to make your food look beautiful. And this was definitely one of those places. My Creme Brulée was gorgeous, but I didn't get a good enough picture of it.

3.5.08 Lighting at Red Robin
Red Robin has these cool lightshades above their tables. Ours was blue. If you use your imagination, this shot looks like a waiting room out of a sci-fi movie. ;o) Just watch out for the hole in the floor!

3.3.08 Science is fun!
Ivory Soap Science
Ivory Soap...the soap that floats. But why? Science guy, Steve Spangler, uncovered the secret behind this floating sensation by cooking the whole thing in the microwave. That's right...the microwave oven! You won't believe your eyes as the soap begins to grow and expand!
My daughter's preschool class did this. It's pretty cool. Check out Steve Spangler's Ivory Soap Experiment for yourself!

The sky snowed flakes all day today. It's finally beginning to stick tonight. I hope we get a blizzard. We haven't had one for too long!

3.1.08 Mason jar
A lighting fixture at a restaurant called The Mason Jar. I love the glow in the jar and the texture of the wood behind it.
I believe I have discovered that I have a bit of an addiction to capturing light on camera...
