2.28.08 Lame caution barrel

Today has been crazy. I barely had time to shoot this lame caution barrel as I was stopped at a light in a construction zone. This thing looks like it must have met with an unstoppable force at some point. Yet it survived to serve another day.

I have been working furiously this week on a work project. It is finally done, but that is only after spending a lot of overtime hours at the computer.

2.26.08 Bunny

This is a little fuzzy bunny my daughter and I discovered while going through my childhood toys. She named him "K'Neffel Bunny," which I thought was actually a clever name as names made up by children go.

2.25.08 American colors

I've been wanting to take a picture of this flag for awhile. This morning, the wind was fierce, and the tree was cooperating. So here it is!

2.24.08 Subway

Have you noticed how spiffy fast food places are trying to become? McDonald's has fancy-shmancy lighting now. Taco Bell got an exterior face lift. And Subway has lost that 1920s newspaper wall covering for a more sophisticated look, complete with cafe-style chairs and tables.

What does all this mean? They still sell the same meatball subs for $2.50 goodness' sake. How do they think this image will lessen the fact that Taco Bell still sells boiled meat tacos?

2.23.08 Garfield

This is the neighbor's cat, Garfield. As we pulled into our parking space, he jumped onto the hood and didn't think it necessary to jump off until he'd checked everything out.

2.22.08 Message

My little girl. She knows what she wants. This says:

"I love you
You haf to love me"

I gave her a hug and said, "I don't have to love you. I just can't help it." :o)

2.21.08 Mouse-eye view

These two are rarely within five feet of each other, so this is a rare event. Later, the third cat joined them, which is even rarer still.

2.20.08 The fridge

Yes, we had a complete lunar eclipse tonight. The moon turned red. It was breathtaking for anyone on this continent with clear skies. We had clouds. So I shot my refrigerator.

PG from Annoyingly Boring wrote haikus to commemorate his fridge last week. I'm taking a picture. :oP Anyone else up to the uninspired challenge? No fair cleaning first!

This raven looks to be waiting around for spring to begin.

Pretend it's upside down world, and we can take a seat on the red bench. Watch out for those lamps sticking out of the floor!

We had our Valentine's date tonight, and I had my first martini. Yes, I'm 30+, and I've never had a martini. Hey, I rarely drink... This was a strawberry-Limoncello one. Delicious! Not really worth almost $8.00, but still yummy. LOL

We had a beautiful frosting of snow early this morning. I'm glad I snapped this image before too late because it was all gone before noon.

What, pray tell, are these things doing next to the chocolate covered cookie sticks, I ask you? I found this in the candy and cookie aisle in an Asian market. What in the world is a fish cake, and how can it possibly be marketed with a cartoon character?!

This is true Colorado: gorgeous purple mountain majesty serving as a backdrop to construction vehicles, concrete blocks, and a Super Bowl port-a-potty. It's construction season!

2.6.08 Mandarins

These "Cuties" are the sweetest, most fun to eat mandarin oranges ever. Oranges are probably my second favorite fruit of all time. (First, being watermelon.)

2.5.08 Snow

Neither one of the pictures I took today were very exciting. LOL But this one at least shows a close up of the gorgeous snow that fell yesterday and into last night.

Had a great day writing at Panera Bread. I'm thinking I need to add a "Panera" label and see how many times I take pictures there this year. LOL

This is "my" cat, Sally. We have three, and she is definitely the sweetest, though she is quite a coward around strangers.

2.1.08 Captive

I could watch fire all day. I visited a friend of mine today, and she had a lovely fire going in this beautiful, old standing fireplace. Fire dances and moves like it wants to leap from the thing which is holding it aflame. I imagine it is trying to escape its tether when it licks the air and moves with the updraft. Fire is always changing, always different. Such a fascinating subject to observe. I took around ten clicks while trying to capture just the right shape.
